Pakistan face off against England in the fifth T20I in Lahore. The series is poised at 2-2 in the first four games. The final three matches will be played in Lahore. The fifth T20I will be played on September 28 and the remaining matches on Sept 30 and October 2nd. This is the final series for both teams ahead of the T20 World cup 2022.

Jos Buttler, England’s regular white-ball skipper who was expected to feature in the last few games has been ruled out. The same was confirmed to the reporters by Matthew Mot England’s head coach.

“With regards to Jos, he’s still a while off. He’s not a player we want to take a risk on at this stage, so close to a World Cup, and it was a reasonably significant injury that he had. He’s champing at the bit for a game but we’ll just try and see how we go: maybe in the last game or two, he might be a chance,” Mott was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

Pakistan won the fourth T20I by three runs in a closely-fought contest. Pakistan scored 166/4 powered by Mohammad Rizwan’s 88. Babar Azam also scored a crucial 36. In reply, England were bowled out for 163 with Haris Rauf picking up three wickets in the death overs.

“Glad that we won the game. Only thing in my mind was that if I get him (Dawson) out, the rest are tailenders, so I knew we had a chance. Pressure will always be there in international cricket, you have to know how to handle it. I was just looking to execute my strengths” he said on winning the Man of The Match award.
