By Ken Hissner: At the Caribe Royale Orlando, Orlando, Florida Friday over DAZN promoter Amaury Piedra (Boxlab Promotions) and Most Valuable Prospects ll in the Main Event WBO NABO Super Lightweight champion Nestor Bravo defeated Will ‘Ill Will’ Medera over ten rounds for the WBA Continental Americas title.
In the Main Event WBO NABO Super Light champ Nestor Bravo, 22-0 (15), #140, of Arecibo, PR, defeated Will ‘Ill Will’ Madera, 17-3-3 (10), #139 ¾, of Albany, NY, over 10 rounds for the WBA Continental Americas title.
In the first rounds final seconds Bravo rocked Madera with a lead right followed by a left to the chin. In the fourth through the seventh rounds Bravo continued to outland Madera.
In the eighth round Bravo was the more accurate though both were landing about the same amount of punches. In the ninth round Bravo outworked Madera in a close round. In the tenth and final round it was the best of the fight as Madera held his own though not enough to take the round. Referee Frank Santore, Jr.
Scores were 96-94 twice and 99-91. 97-93 KH.
Welterweight Damian Les Caillie, 5-0 (3), #146, of Miami Beach, FL, defeated southpaw Hugo Noriega, 8-1 (5), #145 ½, of Cuba and Miami, FL, over 10 rounds for the vacant Continental Americas title.
In the first five rounds Caillie outworked Noriega. In the ninth round Caillie knocked the head back with a jab. In the tenth and final round Caillie out landed Noriega throughout. Referee Frank Gentile.
Scores were 96-93 and 97-92 twice.
Welter Elijah Flores, 6-0 (2), #144 ¾, of Redlands, CA, won a majority decision over Elijah ‘The Bully’ Williams, 6-1 (2), #144, of Newburgh, NY, over 6 rounds.
In the first three rounds Williams outworked Flores. In the fourth through the sixth rounds Williams continued having an edge. Referee Frank Santore, Jr.
Scores were 58-56 twice and 57-57 as did KH.
Super Fly Crystal Rosado, 1-0 (1), #114 ¼, of Carolina, PR, stopped Tarrethia Dixon, 1-0 (1), #114 ¾, of Kalamazoo, MI, at 1:00 of round two of a scheduled 4×2 rounds.
In the second round Rosado went to the body hurting Dixon who turned her back forcing Referee Alicia Collins to call a halt.
Super Light ‘The Quiet Storm’ Julian Smith, 6-2 (4), #139 ¾, of Country Club Hills, IND, won a majority decision over Julio ‘La Pantra’ Rosa, 8-2 (4), #139 ½, of Bayamon, PR and Orlando, FL, over 6 action packed rounds.
In the first round Smith landed the first solid punch to the chin of Rosa. In the final minute Rosa came back well. From the second through the fourth rounds it went back and forth with both having their moments with both landing at the bell.
In the sixth and final round the action continued with Smith having an edge in the round. Referee was Frank Gentile.
Scores were 57-57, 59-55 and 60-54 and 58-56 KH.
Heavyweight 18 year-old “The Giant Killer” Lorenzo Medina, 8-0 (7), #233, of Hialeah, FL, stopped southpaw Antonio “El Bravo” Torres, 4-1 (4), #255 ¼, of PR and Jamestown, NY, at 2:49 of round three of a scheduled 6 rounds.
In the first rounds final 20 seconds Medina countered a right while against the ropes on the chin and down went Torres for an 8-count from Referee Alicia Collins. In the third round Medina hurt Torres with a left to the ribs. Torres had Medina in a corner when Medina worked his way out landing a left to the head of Torres and followed with over half a dozen punches without return forcing referee Collins to stop the fight.
Super Lightweight Alexander Rios, 7-0 (3), #140 ¾, of Bayamon, PR and St. Cloud, FL, knocked out Javier Ailla, 3-2 (2), #136 ¼, of Quito, ECU and New York, NY, at 1:08 of the first round of a scheduled 6 rounds.
In the first round Rios went right after Ailla and landed a left to the mid-section and down went Ailla for the count from Referee Frank Santore, Jr.
Super Welter southpaw Antraveous Ingram, 6-0 (2), #152 ½, of Kissimmee, FL, defeated Orlenis Licea, 0-1-1 (0), #152 ¾, of Guantanamo, Cuba and Tampa, FL, over 4 rounds scoring a pair of knockdowns.
In the first round with a minute remaining a left from southpaw Ingram on the chin of Licea and down he went for an 8-count from Referee Frank Gentile. He got up and fought back well. In the second round coming out swinging wildly Licea rocked Ingram a minute into the round with a right on the chin. Midway Ingram turned to orthodox briefly.
In the third round a chopping right from Ingram on the chin dropped Licea for an 8-count after a minute. In the fourth and final round Ingram for half a round moved away from oncoming Licea feeling he has the decision. Then both slugged it out with Licea getting the better of it.
Scores were 37-36 twice and 38-35 with 38-36 KH.
