Canelo Alvarez Says He’d Beat Conor McGregor With “one Hand”

By Sean Jones: Canelo Alvarez doesn’t appear interested in fighting former UFC champion Conor McGregor after learning of him calling him out for a boxing match.

Canelo said that he would beat the 34-year-old McGregor with one hand, which obviously is true because the Irish fighter doesn’t have clue one what to do in a boxing ring against a world class fighter.

McGregor fought a washed-up 41-year-old Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2017 and was stopped in the 10th round in a fight that was so incredibly boring to disappointing to watch for the many fans that wasted $100 ordering the match on PPV, foolishly thinking it would b competitive.

Now that McGregor’s MMA career is in the dust, with his having lost three of his last four matches in that sport, his ability to hustle fights against popular boxers has eroded. McGregor can’t talk his way into a fight with Canelo because he doesn’t have the cache that he once did.

If McGregor is going to fight a boxer, he will need to aim lower on the tree to some low-hanging fruit and try to peddle the match on PPV in hopes someone will buy it.

“I’d beat him with one hand,” said Canelo reacting to being called out by former UFC champion Conor McGregor.

Canelo you little ginger sausage. I’d beat you with NO HANDS. Don’t forget.

Canelo isn’t going to embarrass himself by stooping to the level of fighting MMA guys like McGregor the way Mayweather did. He’s focused on fighting Dmitry Bivol next and doesn’t have time to pull pathetic bank heists-level fights like Floyd did and continues to do with his exhibition matches.

“Our request from Canelo and Eddy Reynoso is to fight Dmitry Bivol. If we can’t make that fight, he’s going to look at other options. [David’ Benavidez, I’m sure will be one of those,” said Eddie Hearn to Behind The Gloves about Canelo Alvarez’s plans for his next fight in September.

“Nothing is decided on his behalf other than their instructions to me to try and make the Dmitry Bivol fight. But that’s up to Dmitry Bivol. Really, Canelo has already expressed his desire to make that fight at 175.

“Canelo wants the same terms as before, and Canelo wants it at 175 because that’s where he lost. Obviously, Bivol wanted the fight at 168 for the undisputed, but he’s never boxed there before.

“The WBC has come out and said, ‘It won’t be for the undisputed because we won’t sanction it’ because he’s a Russian fighter, and that’s a separate debate. So 175 is the weight, and if Dmitry Bivol doesn’t want it, we will either offer different options to Canelo or, as always, he can talk to other people and stuff like that.

“So his plans at the moment, what I’ve been instructed to do, is to try and make the Bivol fight,” said Hearn.
