Former Ghanaian midfielder, Laryea Kingston has implored Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to appoint the right personnel to run the affairs of the club.
The two most glamorous clubs in the country have failed to glitter in CAF interclub competition for the past decade.
Hearts and Kotoko are currently out of the top four of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League. Both clubs will end the season without a trophy.
Kingston emphasizes the critical importance of both clubs recruiting the right technical personnel to run the day-to-day affairs of the club.
“Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are the two prominent teams in the country. They should strive to do the right things, such as hiring the right technical staff and competent management that comprehends the game,” he told Accra-based Original FM.
He further emphasizes the significance of having a well-structured game plan that would enable the clubs to build teams capable of dominating not only Ghana but also Africa within the next two to three years.
Laryea highlights the current lack of a clear plan by both teams, stressing the need to think long-term and focus on establishing a solid foundation.
“I can confidently say that both teams have not built anything significant in the past five years. Each season, players come and go, with the expectation that something will be achieved, but that’s not the case. They should develop a plan for four or five years to feel secure playing in Ghana and then in Africa,” added Kingston.
